The soft cream coloured melamine placemats from the Regal Pro collection are made in the UK with a stiff hardboard centre; this keeps the tablemats rigid. The base of the mats has a layer of soft cork which keeps the surface of your dining table from getting scratched. The surface of these restaurant standard placemats has a hard melamine layer which is heat-sealed onto the hardboard and can cope with hot plates up to 150ºC.

The main benefit of this hard surface is that it blocks moisture from being absorbed into the tablemat. This top surface of melamine is food safe and very tough, which prevents the restaurant placemats from getting scratched or blistering. When the top layer of a placemat gets damaged then water and moisture from wine or beer glasses can much more easily get inside the surface and this is what causes marks and stains.

In the high volume catering situations typically faced by pubs, restaurants or care homes the placemats are more likely to receive this type of damage. Fortunately for restaurants, placemats with a melamine surface help to keep your tablemats and coasters from deteriorating, allowing them to last for a much longer period of time than standard tablemats would.

The creamy colour is highlighted by triple gold coloured lines around the inside border of the placemats. This decorative detail consists of two thin and one thick line which emphasise the traditional appearance of the Regal Pro collection.

UK size easy care placemats

Measuring 29.2cm x 21.6cm (11.5” x 8.5”) and with a 3.8mm thickness, the Regal Cream placemats are supplied as unboxed sets of four. These UK sized place mats are not just an attractive and elegant addition to your dining-room, but they are also simple to maintain. Any stains or food spills can be wiped away with a damp cloth. The strength of the melamine surface means they can survive more vigorous rubbing if needed. Harsh cleaning chemicals should be avoided as they could affect the colour.

The cork base and hardboard centre mean the Regal Pro placemats should not be immersed in water. Placing them in a dishwasher is not advised, as the corkbacking will absorb the water and affect the bottom of the placemat.
