The rich blue coloured melamine place mats from the Regal Pro collection are UK made with a wooden hardboard centre; this middle section keeps the tablemats rigid. As a layer of soft cork on the base keeps the surface of your dining table from getting scuffed or damaged. The hard melamine layer on the top surface of these catering standard placemats is heat-sealed and can manage hot plates up to 150ºC.

The other main advantage of this hard upper surface is that it prevents moisture from being absorbed into the table mat. This top layer of melamine is safe for food use and is very tough, this prevents the restaurant placemats from scratches or blisters. The top layer of a placemat when it gets damaged allows water and moisture from wine or beer glasses to get under the surface which leads to marks and stains.

In addition, the cork base and hardboard centre mean your Regal Pro melamine placemats should definitely not be submerged in water. Placing them in a dishwasher is also not advised, as the corkbacking will become saturated with water and separate from the underneath of the placemat.
